Warning Signs
If you or someone you know has taken aciclovir orally or by mouth, stop taking it and see your healthcare provider right away.
People with preexisting conditions, as well as those who are taking medications for viral infections, can also take aciclovir.

“It interferes with aciclovir’s ability to bind to viral DNA,” said Dr. Alabra.
“We know that aciclovir can interfere with the DNA synthesis of cells infected with this virus.”
